Hi neighbor! This page explains what happens to your information when you visit this site or sign up for the newsletter. We've tried to write it in plain English, because legal jargon doesn't help anybody.
A quick reminder: this is a volunteer, resident-run project. We're not the HOA, and we're not affiliated with the Bent Grass Metropolitan District or Woodmen Hills Metropolitan District — just neighbors trying to keep other neighbors in the loop.
Right now, that's pretty simple: if you subscribe to the newsletter, we collect your email address so we can send it to you. That's it. We're not asking for anything else, we don't run ads, and we don't use tracking cookies to follow you around the internet.
We use your email to send you the newsletter you signed up for — nothing more. We will never sell, rent, or hand your information over to advertisers or outside companies. This is a neighborhood project, not a business.
We want to be upfront about the technology running behind the scenes, since your information passes through these companies' systems, not just ours. Right now, we use:
Buttondown, to send the newsletter — their privacy policy: https://buttondown.com/privacy
Google Sites, to run this website — their privacy policy: https://policies.google.com/privacy
If that ever changes, we'll update this list right away. We're not going to quietly add new tools without telling you.
Every newsletter email has an unsubscribe link at the bottom — no questions asked.
Have a question or want something changed sooner? Just email us — see below.
We're not currently collecting information specifically about children. If that ever changes as this project grows, we'll update this policy to explain exactly how we'd handle it.
This is a small, evolving project, and it'll probably grow over time. Whenever we change how we handle your information, or add a new tool that touches it, we'll update this page and the date up top. If it's a bigger change, we'll mention it in the newsletter too, so nothing sneaks by quietly.
We're your neighbors, so just reach out: bentgrassneighborhood@gmail.com
